WELDING |

Welding
is at the heart of any metal fabrication works, and Newfield's bank
of 6 axis high performance Motoman welding robots bring speed, reliability
and precision to all our welding. |
|
|
-
small wrist enables access inside intricate shapes.
- ultra-fast servos reduce air-cut time.
- revolutionary Motoman robot control module handles multiple tasks.
- MIG.
- up to 500kg capacity x 2.6m long.
- twin pallets allow one job to be set up while another being welded.
- minimises handling time. |
|
-
components for welding are jigged using high precision welding fixtures
that are made in-house to meet our exacting requirements. Gives
fast turnarounds compared to our competitors. |
|
Although
the majority of our welding is robotic, we still have a place for
highly skilled coded welders. They're used on short runs and prototypes
where it isn't cost effective to set up a robotic welding programme.
They're also used in certain intricate shapes where the robot isn't
able to access the weld. |
|
Over
100 million spot welds are made every day in the automotive industry
in Europe alone. Here it's being used at Newfield to attach a captive
nut to a bracket - a typical application. |
 |

In the late
summer of 2007, Newfield will be adding a new Motoman two work-station
gantry style robot to it's capacity list. The new state of the art
machine will have a capacity of 5 tonnes, and will be able to handle
workpieces up to 8 metres in length x 2.4 metres diameter. The two
workstation design will enable one piece to be set-up, while another
piece is welding, and will maximise the productivity of very large
work pieces. This brochure picture is a single work-station version
of the new machine. |
